solutions for cannot resume from hibernation with ASUS P5N7A VM motherboard problem

I hope many of the proud owners/lovers of ASUS p5N7A-VM must have sufferred "this failure of your system to recover from hibernation" atleast once. This is an on-going problem even after several bios updates.Even installing the latest bios update 0514 fails miserablly to stop this problem permanently.Especially those using Windows 7 Beta versions in this asus p5n7a-vm are likely to get affected more.

Here comes the step by step solution

1, If possible change your power options in the control panel and stop your system from going into hibernation or sleep after several hours. ( I know few of you will hate this step and will be hitting your head, dont worry read below)

2, Make sure your kids or accidentally you dont press the standby/sleep/hibernate shortcut key in your keyboard. If you or some one ends up hitting that button certainly your system would end up in a problem. Your pc will be running but your display would not come up or sometimes your system will not at all boot no matter whatever the OS you are using.

3,Make sure you have the latest bios updates including 0514 and latest device drivers.Even though 0514 bios doesnt stop this problem fully it sometimes makes sleep/hibernation work smooth.

4,Most important point , Know how to recover from the locked Hibernation: readers are warned about risk here. Please do it only if you are fully aware of CMOS clearing , jumper settings etc.

I will make your recovery process simple. If your system fails to wake up after sleeping/hibernation (you can still see the main power light in your cabinet flashing constantly), follow the below method

Remove your system case (one side where you can touch the mobo freely).Dont open the oposite side where you could only see the rear side of mobo.

Remove the CMOS battery with the help of your own sharp nail/pin/any sharp device.Just hook it up and then take the battery out.
Then near the CMOS you will have a stong bios jumper configured in 1 and 2 pins. Now change it to 2 and 3 pins shortly for atleast 10 seconds. It loads the default bios.

Then change the jumper position back to 1 and 2 pins. This is the default position.Dont put it in any other position,it will put an end to your system.Refer your motherboard manual to identify the pins if you have doubts.

After that dont forget to put your CMOS battery in place , keep it firm and tight on the CMOS battery holder back on position. This is vital step which many of us forget.

Then power on your system as usual and you will c your system lighting up as usual.

Off-course you will recieve a warnign beep sound that your BIOS is changed/wrong
Dont worry/panic, just follow the message , it will say press F2 to load default bios settings.Just do that and you will c your system back to life.

Once loaded boot into OS,during that process you will again get a warning message saying that "your system cannot come out of hibernation" That sums it up all .This mobo currently has some problems with recovering from hibernation mode and sometimes from sleep mode.It needs to be fixed by asus engineers.I am sure that they are aware of this problema dn planning tor elase a new version of bios which would fix it fully.

ITS NOT an big issue because this board is an exceptionally feature rich , great performing cheap board. No one can ever feel bad about the graphics it offers. Its better than many geforce 9 series cards around definitely.
